He makes videos on YouTube about leftist political views and was involved with planning the Occupy Wall Street movement along with other struggles for social justice. He has also written books analyzing and criticizing things like capitalism and breadtube. In early 2020, he founded the "Center for Political Innovation", a leftist group espousing "Socialism with American Characteristics", peace with China, and a more social democratic order in the US.
He is controversial in leftist circles due to... attending a meeting with Alexander Dugin (A Russian fascist), writing a book called "Satan at the Fountainhead" which contained language that many thought was antisemitic, and having a debate with self-described fascist "Cultured Thug", in which many thought Caleb didn't argue against him hard enough. Caleb has also said that breadtube, which he calls "The synthetic left", wants to murder him and that the youtuber "Vaush", along with breadtube, is funded by or associated with the CIA.
