Flipping the Glass

When a glass is to be flipped (an empty beer glass, placed upside down on the bar), means that you the drinkee must physically fight the toughest person in the pub/bar. The toughest person is usually everyone in the bar, due to the fact that everyone thinks they are the toughest.

glass tty

A very simple video display terminal without the capability of re-positioning the cursor so that lines of text roll off the top of the screen like an infinitely long roll of paper feeding into a paper shredder.

The user interface was strictly glass tty, the application doesn't even repaint the screen.

Glass-eye

To purposefully ignore someone, to pay no attention to someone, to give someone the brush-off.
Word stems from turning a blind eye to someone. Rather than a blind eye, it is a glass eye.

glasgow scale

The official scale used to measure a drunken state.
A 1 to 15 scale, 15 being sober, 1 being dead.

Sam was gone, you can tell he can't handle his drink, he was pulling a 5 on the Glasgow!

"Call an ambulance, she won't wake up"...later that day..."the paramedic said she was lucky, she was 3 on the glasgow scale"
