Hollaback Girl

The connotation of definition "2" seems most all-emcompassing, but I think the definer meant to write that this is what the antithesis of a "Hollaback Girl" is, meaning that one possessing such characteristics as to be called a "Hollaback Girl" is the opposite of what the author writes. This definition would be apposite for one who is *not* a "Hollaback Girl."

The term "Hollaback Girl" it seems, would best fit any female who refuses to take "s&*!" in any of its multifarious manifestations. And the use of the word "back" in the compound word "Hollaback," whether intentional or coincidental, also conjures a strong, literal image of one who won't take anything lying down.

Another thought: Something that also came to mind was a noncomformist female. Hollister jeans and their brand label on the back of a pair of jeans are the symbol of the white, good-looking, upper-middle class. Maybe this could be interpreted linguistically as a breaking down of the words "Hollister" and "Backside." Just a thought ...
