gricer

A trainspotter, someone who braves rainy and windy station platforms to catch a glimpse of unusual trains. An unproved etymology holds that this word comes from a humorous pronunciation of “grouse”, making the connection between the supposed resemblance of trainspotting to grouse-shooting. The verb grice and the participle gricing are back-formations from gricer. This is from the website for Times Online and is my sense for the word as it is currently used. I would drop the word 'unusual' as a more generic definition would focus on fascination with trains as evidenced by gricing, i.e. wandering about the planet to see, ride, and photograph them.

Several gricers were oohing and aahing with big grins as the heavy Chinese steam locomotive roared by in high dudgeon with a long line of ore cars in tow.

Glide In

A street side parking space that has enough room in advance of the intended spot, so that one can simply glide into the space, without the necessity of parallel parking or jumping the curb (not good for vehicles with CV joints, but done regularly, nevertheless). The more vacant spots in advance of the target spot, the better.

Stoners, the morbidly obese and people over 50, will cruise endlessly for glide in spots. It is rumored that the last glide in parking space in Manhattan was spotted sometime around 1935.

And for the really serious parker, there is the Super Glide In. (Which is a Glide In combined with a Glide Out.)

The Glide

The Glide is a move that guys do to girls at bars or clubs. As a guy is passing by a girl, under the guise of trying to get through the crowd, he will put his hand on her lower back. During this, he will let his hand glide down from her lower back to her ass.

"That creepy guy just walked by me and did the glide." - any girl at a bar on any night ever.

6th grader

A student, usually 11-12 years old and in the bottom grade of middle school. 95% of sixth graders are immature brats that think they're cool because they are finally in middle school. Girls will all be teenyboppers, talking about boys too much and saying "oh my god" every other sentence. Guys will be typical 11-12 year old males. Most 7th-8th graders dislike 6th graders by nature, so don't take it personally. It will just get you in a lot of trouble.

grade 8s

in highschools grade 8-12, 8s being the youngest, these pre teens tend to act cocky and loud. they hang out in large numbers to look "cool" but only crowd hallways and make them unpassable, and think of themselves THE BEST (reasons why will vary) they also tend to find every act, stupid or not, "awesome" Laugh everytime the word sex, or words relating to, funny and know nothing of it other than from what they hear from porn. tend to be, in general, the least respected people

guy1: damn grade 8s.. always blocking the hallways..
guy2: i know eh.. jus 'cuz they were the oldest people in their old school(s) they act all cocky now
guy1: dont worry, once they hit grade 9, they'll know how they were, and will eventually lose all respect for them as we did.
