We'll start the news cast with the story about the firefighters rescuing the kitten from the cherry tree. Then we'll drop the dead donkey, and run the story about how they fed it to the firehouse Dalmatian afterwards.

Paul is Dead 

A ledgend/cult that in 1966, Paul McCartney of the Beatles died in a car crash, and the Beatles quickly found a look a like(Billy Shears) to replace Paul, and covered the whole thing up. Of course, it's a hoax, but if you're a Beatles fan, it is interesting to check out, although it does give me the heebie-jeebies if I do it at night...anyway, obsessed maniacs find all these clues in songs and on album covers by using mirrors, symbolism, a lot of Internet searching, and record players.

Young Dead 

adj: phrase used to describe the youthful generation of vampires, werewolves, and other denizens of the undead world, favored by teen girls, cougars, and chicken hawks.

Mandy, the 40-something mother of two teen-aged girls, satisfied her cougar voyeurism by taking her daughters to every vampire movie featuring totally ripped male vampires who she thought of as the "young dead".

The Greatful Dead were an American rock band formed in 1965 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The band was known for its unique and eclectic style, which fused elements of rock, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae, country, jazz, psychedelia, and space rock and for live performances of long musical improvisation. "Their music," writes Lenny Kaye, "touches on ground that most other groups don't even know exists."

The fans of the Grateful Dead, some of whom followed the band from concert to concert for years, are known as "Deadheads" and are known for their dedication to the band's music. Many refer to the band simply as "the Dead." As of 2003, the remaining band members who had been touring under the name "The Other Ones" changed their official group name to "The Dead". Can't swing a dead cat. 

When you live in such a small town that you run into someone you know EVERY time you go out. Short for "you can't swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting 2 people you know." Basically means you live in too small a town. In gestured form is done by a circling of one hand in the air like a lassoing action.

I went out to eat with my friends and the waitress comes over and says, "hay, I went to high school with you." My friend says, "you can't swing a dead cat."
