Drifter

A drifter is a homeless person often found in big coastal cities. They usually roam to different areas every once in a while, but never stay permanently. 2 big things different about a hobo and a drifter is hobos tend to rely on help while drifters are always self-reliant. Another thing is a hobo never moves to town to town like a drifter. If you do see a hobo wandering to different areas, that's a homeless person, not a hobo

Internet drift

When you start searching the internet for one thing and end up looking at a series of unrelated things, usually culminating in browsing memes or that "one weird trick" you didn't know you needed to complete your life.

Me: "Hey Amy, what'cha doing?"
Amy: "Browsing the internet."
Me: "You've been on the computer for three hours! I think somebody is experiencing some Internet drift! I'm just sayin."

drift is a motorsport started in japan where the aim is to get your car sideways for as long as possible. extra points are scored for speed, style and 'linking' corners, ie, lapping a tight twisty track without ever gaining traction. Dorift is the pronunciation of the word 'drift' with a japenese accent and has come to mean the same

in the computer game need for speed underground, there is a section where you have to get your car sideways to score points. this activity is described as dorifting

Drifting (v.) The act of an Xbox 360 controller 'skipping' when playing a first person shooter (such as Modern Warfare 2). Usually caused by getting pizza dough in it; causes a higher sensitivity in the analog sticks.

Cowan was playing CoD with James, Clark, and Stru one day when his Uncle Gianluca needed help in the kitchen making a calzone. As he was kneading the dough, he got his controller caught in it and got pizza dough under the joysticks. To this day, the controller has him drifting all over the place if he's trying to quick scope.
