Patchwork Boyfriend

Piecing together a boyfriend by means of multiple partners. One gives it up on the reg, one actually spends money on you by taking you on dates, and one fills the everyday needs of hanging out or companionship. When combined, you have the perfect man. (In the ideal situation, the individual components don't know about the others). **This term can also be flipped and used to reference a piecemeal girlfriend.

Space Boyfriend

A character in Omori. Captain of the Space Pirates and ruler of the universe, he finds himself victim to an abusive relationship with Sweetheart, who dumps and later divorces him. He also has banger mixtape which samples Earthbound and Chrono Trigger.

However, that is all in the imagination of Omori character Sunny. In Sunny’s real world, Space Boyfriend is a comic series detailing his many adventures.

Most important of all, Space Boyfriend’s creator, Clover & Sealife, intended him to be a trans man. Meaning Space Boyfriend is a trans icon as a result which is awesome. He also has the coolest boss themes in the game - You were wrong, go back and You cannot go back.

Much like a friend with benefits except the benefits go beyond the sexual sphere. The boy becomes attached and wants both emotional and sexual support from you without any committment. If someone asks, much like friends with benefits, you are not together, just friends. You know, friends who call each other just to say good night, friends who invite each other for holidays, friends who sleepover once a week, friends who have sex and do all other things sexual yet listen to sappy songs in the dark, etc. etc. Really for all intents and purposes you are a couple, but refuse to admit it and pretend everyone else doesn't know it.
