dogshow

In Philippine English, dogshow refers to satirically mocking a celebrity or any other famous person through memes or jokes. Dogshows are usually done by the fanbase of the celebrity that is being poked fun at. Dogshows do not intend to harm/ destroy the image of a famous person. Posting dogshows lead to further prominence of icons despite what seems to be bad publicity stunts.

Dog shows are events or contests for dogs to show their amusing tricks. Doing tricks is synonymous to playtime since both cause entertainment or fun. Being dogshowed means one is a source of jest. The slang has been existing for decades in underground gay communities as a term to nonsensically fooling people for fun.

EN: VP Leni Robredo was dogshowed by her supporters when they captured the funny faces she made on her Facebook Live.

TL: Kilala si Otin G sa panggagaya niya sa dalawang kilalang artista (sina toni at jodi) sa kapamilya network. Dahil dito, dino-dogshow siya ng kanyang fans sa social media.

A troublemaking little skank who gets into all kinds of mischeif. Usually hyperactive and sneaky, not rare to resemble a rodent of some sort (i.e. rat, mouse, meerkat, prarie dog, ect.). A complete klutz who ruins any situation as to be sneaky.
