the act of saving a friend/colleague/fellow olympians ass by pulling off the textbook perfect save of a lifetime. Refers to the 2008 Beijing Olympics in which during the 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay the U.S.A. anchor Jason Lezak overtook his French competitor in epic fashion to win the gold for the US men and make Michael Phelps' 8 gold medals a reality.

Basically it means the same thing as pulling a 'disappearing act'.
It all started out from the movie Twilight and E.C. stands for Edward Cullen Character. When you pull an E.C., you have a tendency to disappear from time to time. Edward Cullen disappeared on numerous occasions throughout the movie.

In reference to the Paris Hilton court case, in which sheriff Lee Baca had befriended her grandfather and had accepted $1,000 from him a year earlier, thus explaining his kind behavior towards her jail sentence.

In ordinary terms: when someone befriends you because you offer them money. (Sort of like a hooker.)
