a poser is someone who copies who they think are the cool people's everymove and then go and spend money on crap they can't do or will more then likely ever do. things like skateboarding or learning to play the guitar or drums or something just cause all the people around them do it.

1. joe- hey i just got the most awesomest skateboard ever!
bob- how muck did it cost?
joe- like $200
bob-that's a lot...can you do any tricks on it?
joe-um... yea but i can't do them now.
bob- why not?
joe- um.....
bob- damn poser get a life

the word 'scene' describes the word 'poser'
scene kids like to think they are unique by doing what everyone else does, and then thinks that someone who does exactly what they did is a poser.

scene kids are posers. a scene poser is someone who wants to be a poser. fucked up, isn't it?

A word that can be used to describe any situation whether its good, bad, funny, sad, hateful, loving, or spontaneous. May also be used as a verb. Basically you can substitute poose for any word known to mankind.

Who needs a dictionary? Got poose?

Good: "Nice ride man, that's so totally poose."

Bad: "Your moms a bitch." "Yeah, shes so poose."

Verb: "Dude, you just got poosed!"

dude, you know that scene poser mary? she listens to bands everyone knows like the clash and nirvana but she got snake bites, a scene haircut, and she tries to take scene pics and she put polka dots as her background on her myspace. what a scene poser.

Punk poser: listens to American Idiot consantly and is totaly obsessed but doesn't know they had other cd's in the 90's

Goth poser: person who wears all black clothes ect. but doesn't even know Edgar Allen Poe or acts very cheery

skater poser: wears skater clothes and owns a skateboard but never uses the board. Can't even balance for long

Insecure high-school kids latching onto whatever cultural or subcultural stereotype they can in order to 'fit in.' This is a manifestation on an undifferentiated ego-mass striving for conformity and order in a complex and difficult social environment, such as high-school. Most of these kids will outgrow it by their mid 20s. And, will discover that 'being themselves' is the best option of all.

Middle and upper class Black kids trying to be 'gangsta.'
Middle and upper class White kids trying to be 'punk.'

'Derek is such a poser. He talks all 'street' and listens to all the latest gangsta-rap from LA. When in fact, he grew up in Georgetown and his dad is an executive at IBM.'

1.Someone who tries to be popular by looking or acting like someone else. Sometimes, NOOBS are also called posers when they act like other people in the group without a hint of autheniticy. Happens in most common style groups like Goth, Punk, Wigger (Chav), and most infamously, Prep and Pop culture.

2. A character, show, or actor that doesn't have a clue of being individually styled.

Johnny is still a poser to the prep kids after he tried to wear the same brands as every one else.

Hot Topic was one of the most feared poser-stores to both true Punks and Goths alike.
