a borough in new york that people hate on 24\7. thats enough for all this hating on staten island. 75% of u that hate on staten island have never been there. and not everyone is a guido with spikey hair. im albanian and im from the projects in south beach. now for all the people that see this and start hating; stop talkin bout guidos and go to the project in staten, then u will never hate again on staten.

Staten Island

One of the five boroughs of New York City who's south shore is mostly suburbanish while it's North Shore is consdidered urban. Any resident can tell you that the two shores are like diffrent worlds. The South shore and mid-island are heavily republican while the North shore has been said to have more in common with parts of Brooklyn and Queens then it does with the rest of Staten Island. The South shore is mostly white while the North shore is primarily black. While the South shore is filled with mostly middle-upper middle class families living in areas that would be considered suburbs, the North shore is filled with mostly low-income urban areas that are home to mostly blacks and hispanics. The Staten Island Railroad was even called the "Mason-Dixon Line" due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of the borough's minorities live above it on the island's North shore, and due to hate crimes that were being commited in Staten Island's Mid-land and southern areas. Crime is also a problem in most of the neighborhoods that make up the North shore. North Staten Island was giving a zoning law that would allow owners to open stores on it almost tax-free to help boost the economy because of the long time poverty and unemployment that exists on the island's North Shore. While the majority of the neighborhoods on the North Shore are ran-down areas that suffer from crime, poverty, unemployment, AIDS, teenage pregnacy and other things of that nature, the South and Mid-land areas are for the most part nice places to live and to raise a family. The media's reluctance to report things that happen on Staten Island most likely so they don't tarnish it's already fading reputation as a virtually crime-free easy going suburb is probably the exact reason why out-of-towners move in to homes on the North Shore and move out accordinly.

a place where all the mafiaa people from brooklynn go to livee then decide to move to jersey. the accents are annoyingg and everyone owns a northface jacket.. the boys got to the salon (eyebrows waxed and tanning) and so do the girls. everyone on the south shore is a prostitute in training with a bellybutton ring. the southshore girls go to St. joseph sea. cheerleading and basesball are major sports here. if you lived here for about 6 months you probably gotten the finger at least 6 times. everyone is republican and drives like an asshole. everyone has italians blood in them and you probably knoe at least 7 mikes 2 angelos and 10 joeys. all the boyss act like wiggers and make up stupidd gangss. i knoe this cause i live here. in bay terris. EvErY1 tAlKs lYkEs dIsSs Onn dAa cOmPuTeRrR and smell like shitt. the island only smells by arther kill roadd.

staten island girl

Ahh the "staten island girl" what most describe as a rich, trashy, overly-make-up'ed, tight-pants wearing, coach bag carrying girl with an obnoxiouss accent(etc)

I will not claim that this breed of miserable-ness does not exist on this island (because sadly it does) i would like to point out that there are girls, mostly residing on the North Shore, that detest this stereotype.

In fact, there are some of us that:

-have no accent at all(baffling i know)
-actually left the island for college & whatnot
-hate wearing too much make-up
-refuse to buy coach bags (or only buy the leather ones without the C insignia so no one knows)
-own many pairs of sweatpants and non-matching hoodies that do not contain an ounce of velour, andd wear them out in public
-do not wear high heels to "the mall"
-work and own their own bank accounts that contain their hard-earned cash
**-make fun of boys with the blow out
***-get really pissed off at the girls that do NOT make fun of boys with the blow-out because that just makes them think its okay, and it not
-enjoy getting their real nails painted, and actually kno what their real nails look like without acryllics
-do not have lifetime memberships to the tanning loft, body tan, hollywood tans etc.
-cringe when people ask where their from (because that inevitably is followed with a joke about either coffee, the dump, traffic, or just laughter)
-have goals other than marrying someone rich and moving to a nice gaudy house in todt hill and/or annadale
-refused to watch true life: i'm a staten island girl out of sheer embarrassment OR watched it and just felt embarrassed for the girls on the show...

you get the idea.
We are few but we do exist.
