uncsa

A school for especially talented artists. The school contains both a high school and a college program. The arts here include (but are not limited to) ballet, modern, visual arts, music, drama, and vocals. Half of the population here contains gay or lesbian students. This makes the dating pool considerably smaller for all parties. Which is fine, because most artists are bat shit crazy anyway. With the numerous events available to the students here they are rarely bored, and rarely get their schoolwork done. The students are all fairly supportive of each other and you aren't allowed to smoke within 50 feet of most buildings. Yet, with the school being located in Winston-Salem, you will find burnt cigarette stubs on the floor next to most of these signs anyway. The artistry at this school is well-known by the locals, although it's still annoying when a bus carrying a ton of high school kids parks in front of Target right before Christmas.

Many famous artists and comedians went to uncsa for schooling.

unassociating

similar to unfriending or unfollowing. to undo an association with someone. refusal to associate with a person, place, or thing. often used in the term of diminishing communication and/or contact with a certain person for various reasons. this could also mean that the person doesn't want to be connected or "linked" to any part of someone and/or that persons life anymore.

jessica: I don't know why they still trash talk me, it's been 4 years.

elli: time to unassociate.

Matt: Kathy stopped talking to me completely-but we see each other everyday.

John: ouch...she did some unasssociating.

Matt: what is that ?

John: unassociating is similar to unfriending or unfollowing, except she did it in real life.

uncanny

Freud specifically relates an aspect of the Uncanny derived from German etymology. By contrasting the German adjective unheimlich with its base word heimlich ("concealed, hidden, in secret"), he proposes that social taboo often yields an aura not only of pious reverence but even moreso of horror and even disgust, as the taboo state of an item gives rise to the commonplace assumption that that which is hidden from public eye (cf. the eye or sight metaphor) must be a dangerous threat and even an abomination - especially if the concealed item is obviously or presumingly sexual in nature. Basically, the Uncanny is what unconsciously reminds us of our own Id, our forbidden and thus repressed impulses perceived as a threatening force by our super-ego ridden with oedipal guilt as it fears symbolic castration by punishment for deviating from societal norms. Thus, the items and individuals that we project our own repressed impulses upon become a most uncanny threat to us, uncanny monsters and freaks akin to fairy-tale folk-devils, and subsequently often become scapegoats we blame for all sorts of perceived miseries, calamities, and maladies.
