When someone has to be corrected, but you want to do it in a sort of polite way.

Note: can also be said as "sorry to smash your chicken"

Person 1: Dude I bought these shoes and they're super cool!

Person 2: Not to smash your chicken, but those shoes are kind of ugly

Person 1 (playing beer pong): I just made a sweet shot!
Person 2: sorry to smash your chicken but your wrist was over the table so it doesn't count.
