ipse switchit

Something given much merit by a seller but not proven to work as well as the buyer's first choice. A "bait-and-switch" tactic. Punning on the legal term "ipse dixit" (something asserted but unproven) and "Ipswich".

That home electronics store really rooked me on the MP3 player. They gave me one that cost me more than the one I really wanted, and this one doesn't sound as good. Looks like a case of ipse switchit!

Udi

A very small ethnic group found in the Caucasus Mountains of Russia. Their language is (disputedly) related to Lezgin, which in turn is spoken in Azerbaijan and Daghestan. The Udi used to have two main ethnic centers in Azerbaijan: Vartashen and Nij. Azerbaijani nationalism has forced the Udi to settle in Armenia and Georgia, in scattered communities. They are a Christian people whose church is very similar to that of the Armenians. There is a movement by some Udi to form an organization "Aghvank" in Armenia, to preserve the endangered language of the Udi and their customs for future generations.

I'd like to learn more about the Udi people---their language seems to be very interesting.

accidentogenic

Having very unsafe driving habits, e.g. cutting into traffic from a single narrow lane into a four-lane highway without signaling; making a right turn from a left lane; running red lights, etc.

Mr. Nilsson is a heavy drinker and very accidentogenic. I wouldn't get into a car with him if my life depended on it!

1) The sound a computer makes when certain types of error messages or pop-ups appear on the screen of your monitor;
2) To block access to something on a computer because of an error message or pop-up.

I just got a donk from a menu screen on my computer, so I have to 'x" it out to get to the next link.
