A term often used amongst high school students on the Sydney North Shore to refer to the clique of problematic students within a year group. These students are often characterised by trouble making and/or delinquent-like behaviour.

The term originated at one particular private girls’ school and has spread across multiple North Shore private schools since.

the demographic of Franciscan University students that genuinely don't want the best for you. they are never there for you when you need and will eventually stop talking to you altogether. they also only talk to girls if they're trying to get something out of them. they never ask people to grab a meal as way of getting to know them.

"The Five" is a reference to the American city of New York City. Modern day New York City was formed by the amalgamation of the five boroughs of Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island formed in 1898.
