A portmanteau word (from swear + automatic) meaning a task that automatically makes you want to swear whilst doing the task. The task may be fiddly or may have steps in it that cause you unnecessary pain, causing you to make full use of your vocabulary of expletives. This is particularly the case for small, menial, unnecessary difficult tasks, such as tasks involving technology or craft items.
A useful word to alert those around you that what you are doing or about to do may cause you to loose your temper, say words you might regret or otherwise be grumpy to those around you who you may otherwise have a happy existence.
