stoned up

A term for getting high on marijuana used in Vermont. Don't ask me why they add the word "up". I couldn't explain it any more than I could tell you how they thought of the expression cabbage night.
A: Man, I can't stay awake anymore. I am about to meet the table with my head.

B: Wow, you must be pretty stoned up.

A: *bonk*

Turning the stone up

When one mate in a marrital commitment is caught by a third party trying to remove their wedding ring in contemplating approaching someone with the intent of breaking the wedding vow. In short, the intention of cheating on the other spouse. The action of removing the ring is caught and approached by the prospect, and the return excuse by the married member is: "I was turning the stone up", referring to the embedded stone in the ring and positioning the ring to display the stone topside!
Bob was at the bar and was caught "turning the stone up" by a hot female he just met! She asked what he was doing when he was trying to remove his wedding ring on approach.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
