Like "quarter water," it's those little 25 cent drinks you buy at the bodega/deli/candy store; the logic behind calling a quarter water a sterile is that many believe that the government has created the drink and offers it at such a low price that it is used to sterilize residents in urban neighborhoods.

Sterile Steve 

A person named Steve whose lack of interest in women makes him look sterile. Commonly known as "The Sterile". Never try to unsterile The Sterile, that just leads to misconceptions and awkward looks from his roommate. He also thinks he can play the guitar really well and he thinks his voice is like heaven and posts videos of him doing that on YouTube. These videos if seen could prevent him from ever getting a job anywhere because they are so horrendous.

If you are scrubbed into a surgery and it comes to light that you have made a very large mistake in patient management, the attending surgeon may "sterile slap" you. A sterile green towel is placed on your head and the attending slaps you with his hand. This technique maintains the sterile field.

Jon got sterile slapped by Dr. Mutumbo when he found out that he forgot to check the patient's blood work before he scrubbed in.
