shin diggler

Term refered to in soccer when a volley is attempted. The ball fails to come off the foot cleanly, instead rolling down the shin and flicking up off the end of your foot.

Walter attempted a volley, instead he hit a shin diggler and the ball dribbles harmlessly wide of goal
