Rustlang stands for the Rust language. Rust is a static, multi-paradigm, general-purpose programming language, that can guarantee memory safety as long as you write or use safe code. It was originally designed by Graydon Hoare at Mozilla Research. While Rust is a very modern language, it is considered to be low level, making it a great choice to use for writing drivers, operating systems, and firmware. Rust has been voted the "most loved programming language" in the Stack Overflow Developer Survey every year since 2016. Ferris the crab is the mascot for Rust. People using Rust are known as rustaceans.
