A looming, long, drawn out pandemic. Punctuated by continuing longing for, and fending off overt references to, better days of large crowds intermingling without care (like concerts, sporting events, and other reasons you'd move to the downtown of a large city, like Vancouver).
Upon seeing an advertisement for an online course using an un-related photo of a large crowd at a live concert.... "...it's also not entirely appropriate seeing as how we are in the middle of a pandaloom".
A mock Chinese court in which the principles of law and justice are disregarded or perverted to suit the will and political narrative of the CCP. A court marked by irresponsible, unauthorized, or irregular status or procedures, with judgment or punishment given outside of legal procedure decided directly by the political policies of the CCP.
when you're holding up your phone and making faces at it, as though you are taking a selfie, but you're really taking a picture of the person across from you or the wall or anything else that seems interesting but you don't want to be caught dead taking a picture of.
This action is often made more convincing by wiggling the eyebrows or opening the mouth, to pretend you're trying to get a Snapchat filter to work.
FRIEND A: "Did you just take a stealthie of me?"
FRIEND B (turning phone around): "no I was just using snapchat's new filter, see?"
