OC Persona 

OC is collective for ''owned character'' ''original content'' or ''original character'' usually describing a character or creation that is either franchised, branded, or owned by a lone person or company.

Whilst a Persona is a character the author identifies with, not necessarily as self-insert, which is the author drawn in an art style or as a character.

an OC Persona is a character that does not look like the author, but primarily the author's ''personal'' view on how they'd want to be like in a completely fictional world. it is more in-depth and the character has backstory unrelated to the author's real life. An OC persona also does not share the real name of the Author.

''Name'' is neither an OC or Persona, they do not have my actual name, but I use them as ''me'' instead of my face.

''Name'' is an OC Persona, they're a bit more personal with the story tropes that I like, so I identify with this character quite a lot when writing.

My OC is also kind of my persona, though more of a character, since I don't look like them.

OC Effect 

When a chick has those super big sunglasses on that were made popular by the old T.V. show "The OC" and therefore makes her look hot when she is questionably ugly because half of her face is covered by sunglasses.

Oc x Canon 

Oc x canon is when you like the idea of you oc(original character) with a character that is in a show, book or game. A lot of people hate oc x canon but if someone does it you should let them do it, there is no reason to attack people that might ship there oc with a character they like. It's just something that people like to do.

OC Fiction 

Stories written around or composed entirely of original characters (OCs). Tends to be a better form of fanfiction than that made up of nothing but canon characters, as it's a lot harder to mess up those characters' personalities. It's highly recommended that anyone trying to get into fanfiction should start out doing OC fiction.
Games such as Warhammer 40,000 and Dungeons and Dragons almost demand that you write OC fiction for them, since there are very few canon characters (none but the gods in D&D, and they can act pretty much how the writer wants them to within a certain boundary). As such, these make excellent starting areas for authors looking to get into OC fiction.
If you're writing OC fiction, make sure that every character you add to the story is taken through the Mary Sue Litmus Test first, unless you want to get flamed. Mary Sues have killed many a good piece of fanfiction with their sickening, unrealistic perfection.
OC fiction often allows readers to submit their own OCs; don't just accept them out of the kindness of your heart. If they're Mary Sues, or don't fit within your story, then don't accept them. Simple as that.

I was really enjoying an OC fiction fanficiton; they'd gotten the character I'd submitted completely correct. But three chapters in, some dumbass submitted a Mary Sue into the story, and the author didn't know how to say no.
