Like going on a walk and stealing one flower from each yard to make a bouquet instead of stealing a bunch of flowers form one yard because no one will notice if one flower is gone and it makes you feel mischievous and sneaky in a delightful kind of way. Nicking Around is the act of when someone is being really nice and gives you the idea that that they want to be around you. Then out of nowhere ignores and avoids talking to you or being around you in anyway. Nicking around is a random occurance, but when it does occur causes people to feel "nicked off".
