A highly favored vodun and powerful water spirit venerated by the Fon people of Bénin (Dahomey). This vodun is associated with beauty, fertility, good health, long life, prosperity, material abundance and wealth, as well as invincible spiritual protection and vanquishing of enemies. Not one to mess with. Adepts who are initiated are referred to as Nayetési.
We made offerings to Nayete at her temple and our riches multiplied.
