When using a messaging service like text or chat, a person accidentally sends a message to the wrong person (usually the last person texted, but not the person that the message was intended for).

Mischategorize

To communicate in one chat, while mistakenly believing you're in another.

I mischategorized again while in the BLM chat, and suggested "watermelon, fried chicken and koolaid", when I THOUGHT I was in the Picnic Favorites chat room! :(
