Kabki comes from the Persian word kabk (or kaw in kurdish) which describes a species of birds known in English as Chukar - Partridge. These birds are found predominantly around the mountainous regions of Kurdistan.
Kabki is most often used as a surname. Those associated with the name are descendants from a well admired and talented hunter in the region of Musalan, a Kurdish village in northwestern Iran. West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead.
