Jobtown is a term used by firefighters to denote a legitimate or "working" structure fire. It is as much a feeling as it is a place; adrenaline, excitement, fear, and anxiety are some of the feeling triggered. To some, Jobtown is a fantasy place they only hear real firefighters tell stories about. It can be everywhere and nowhere all at the same time. Not to be confused with other "alarms" or fires such as brush or trash fires, Jobtown is reserved for calls where someone's life or property is saved from total destruction.
