Classics of the horror movie genre were filmed thru the 1950's to the mid 1980's. The teen genre, though no stranger to horror movies, is believed to have caused the demise of "true" horror movies in the 1990's. Typical teen movies now often mix with the horror genre, causing genuine horror movies to often be thought of as a thing of the past.

Horrormones: noun

The substance produced in random bouts and in extreme quantities primarily within adolescent homo sapiens which beget unpredictable periods of grumbling, crying, door slamming, angst, moodiness; and which often correlates to the parental homosapien's decline into alcoholism and/or midlife crisis.

My daughter Khrystynah was such a happy-go-lucky child until the teenage horrormones hit. Now she's always in a foul mood and we're constantly getting into ridiculous fights about the silliest things - like 'why would you spell Christina like that?!' It's enough to drive me to drink!
