Gopala is another name for the Hindu God Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is known as Krishen, Kanhaiya, Gopal, and Gopala, and various other names. He is usually depicted with either a flute in adult form, and surrounded by women; or as a kid eating butter as a child, as he was known to be a butter thief!
Gopala is not a very commonly used name, very few Gopalas around now, so if you know one, hang on tight!!!
