Gay By Association 

A descriptor for straight people who have almost exclusively queer friends. This doesn't mean they are actually queer. It is a way friends satirize they are the straight minority in the group because it is the opposite of what occurs in society. Usually, queer people are minorities.

Sometimes used to describe straight allies.

**Doesn't mean they are gay. Satirical only.**
Person: Is your friend Steve gay?
Queer friend: He's gay by association.
