Association Smell

The smell of something that reminds you of something else or a past experience.
Dude, I shared pancakes with my ex-girlfriend right after we had sex, so now anytime I get that association smell, I get an erection.

association fallacy

An illegitimate child between ad hominem (because association fallacy focused on the PERSON or PEOPLE instead of the ARGUMENT), appeal to emotion, hasty generalization, questionable cause fallacy (because "labels" associated to someone or something can determine the degree of "truth"), and red herring (because it deliberately derails the argument)

Association Fallacy has two kinds:
1. Guilt by association
2. Honour by association
Example of association fallacy:

"You're Neo-Nazi, therefore your argument must be wrong" (Godwin's Law/Reductio ad Hitlerum)
"You are leftist liberal special snowflake, therefore your argument is dismissed" (Red-bait/Red-tag)
"You're the expert, therefore your opinion must be right" (Honour by association)

association fallacy

When someone's character, actions, or opinions are judged SOLELY based on a group or person they are associated with, rather than their own merits or actions. Essentially, it's assuming that negative traits of one individual or group automatically apply to others who are connected to them.
Works on the basis of things other than people, (ideas, groups, etc.)
Association fallacy on the basis of people:
John James has a brother who committed fraud and petty theft, so we should really keep an eye on John because he probably learned a thing or two from his brother!
Didn't Bob Generic spend some time in that labor union? Yeah, we should kick him out before he starts spouting off stuff about eating the rich!
Association fallacy on the basis of ideas:
The Conservative Party has deep ties to traditionalism, nationalism, and anti-communism. Y'know who else did? THE NAZIS! LOCK THOSE GENOCIDAL, RACIST BASTARDS UP!
The Democratic Party has deep ties to liberalism and worker's rights. Y'know who else did? THE COMMIES! LOCK THOSE GENOCIDAL, OPPRESSIVE BASTARDS UP!

Homeowners Association

An omnipresent force in suburbia, or at least in most of it's residential neighborhoods.

A quasi-fascist governing board, often set up by a subdivision's real-estate developer, who strictly enforce such rules and building codes as...

-Grass must be kept watered, golf course green and closely manicured, even during times of drought and water shortages

-No one uses their yard to grow their own food

-No patch of land may be permitted to return to it's natural state

-No rooms or other additions may be permitted above or in front of the existing home

-No potter's shed or tool shed may be allowed anywhere on the property

-No yard ornaments

-No rain barrels

and so on.
The homeowners association says you can't put an addition onto the front of the house. They also said you couldn't add a 2nd level (which would keep any additional property from being paved over.) They said that the only place you could add on was the back (which paradoxically is the only yard anyone ever actually uses.)

To get another idea of what a homeowner's association is like, watch the 1999 episode of the X-Files by the name of "Arcadia."

Trilby Community Association

A non-profit organization started in one of Florida's poorest communities back in late 2001 by an activist for change. Denny Sharkey Mihalinec. TCA as it was originally called, started out with a few residents from 2001-2003. Some faded out and Denny Sharkey Mihalinec went out door to door asking residents to get involved to make a difference. The goal was to bring industry, better housing opportunities, food resources, youth activities, the first ever crime watch program that turned into a full time security patrol, educational help for the low income, the need for infrastructure and so much more.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
Some grebo passed with Sabbath playing on his stereo.
The Poppies are at no. 17? God, a grebo band in the charts!
