An emotiate is a person who you don't know well yet there is still some sort of emotional connection between you. This person is not so far removed from you so is in the box between friend and associate.

"I was on the phone to Malik the other day, and he asked me if you were friends with his brother, too. I know your not-so I just told him you were emotiates."

Emotisteal 

The act of stealing an emoticon you don't have from a person for the sure enjoyment of using it as your own.

When someone uses an emoticon that you like and do not have you can use this word to announce to your fellow IM user that you are stealing their emoticon so you can share it with other people.

Them: (cool emoticon)
You: oo emotisteal
Them: nice :P
You: :)

The act of your SO texting suggestive emoticons, but not following through IRL.

I just got an eggplant + a tongue from my wife, but I know that she will be asleep by the time I get home. She is such an emotitease.
