An edge hog is a player of Super Smash Brothers or Super Smash Brothers Melee who sits on the edge of a level after knocking their opponent off the main part of the level and hits their opponent as they try to make their way back onscreen.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee, when a player is holding onto the ledge intentionally so the other player that is trying to recover cannot grab on it which causes him to fall to his death.
