compfigure

Figuring out how to get a piece of computer software to do something you want. The implication is that the task to be accomplished is simple, but ends up taking much longer - perhaps the manual is missing or unclear, filled with drivel - or, worse, written using a Wiki. Usually this compfiguration must be performed at an inconvenient time, with other deadlines pressing. For instance, often searching for how to change something that you *know* amounts to altering a single software variable can turn into a major compfiguration nightware. Once a simple change takes longer than 20 minutes, it is called a *compfiguration exercise*, and normally lasts between two and eight hours for the average badly written application such as Apache, up to days for monstrosities like Sendmail - or even weeks in the case of some Windows changes, where not only does the final configuration matter - but in fact the *order* in which the configuration was issued.

The act of completely and immediately resolving a problem or issue of absolutely any given nature through pure brilliance and outstanding nerve. A rare phenomenon; typically native to a devestatingly attractive and intelligent individual, who pretty much just goes around fixing stuff. Like a boss.

"Dude. I don't know how you sorted that situation!"

What you eye-twinklingly say when presented wif a "cranky-conundrum" situation which others are at a loss as to how to solve, but you are able to see a way out dat involves designing/altering one or more components in a certain way.

Cool dude #1, observing his electronics-nerd best friend strolling by his job-site, and waving him over to where he's puzzling over a power-cables array: Hey, Bud --- I'm trying to figger out about wiring up this circuit, but how to hook up da control-switches has me majorly scratchin' my head. Any ideas?
Cool dude #2, after briefly tracing da wiring and pondering a moment: Oh, yeah --- I configure that out. We just need a couple of relays in addition to your existing start-and-stop switches.

all I configure

Da only reason you can see regarding a certain way dat something is constructed, arranged, etc.

This web-page looks completely different from how it was a few months ago --- all I configure is dat it must have had a total overhaul or upgrade at some point since I last saw it.
