The 2019 college admissions bribery scandal refers to a scheme to influence admissions decisions at American universities. On March 12, 2019, U.S. federal prosecutors in the District of Massachusetts unsealed indictments and complaints against 50 people, including the organizer of the scheme and university coaches he bribed, as well as prominent businesspeople and actors who were parents of children applying to college, who are alleged to have used briberyand fraud in attempts to secure admission for their children at eight universities.
