1980s candy apple red paint

1980s candy apple red paint - a classic, deep red color, often associated with Ford (code 'T' or 'M2008') & Mercury in that era, known for its glossy, layered look achieved with a metallic base (like silver) a translucent red "candy" mid-coat, applied in a multi-stage process for depth, with modern kits available for custom projects or restoration, requiring specific reducers &clearcoats for the best finish.

Key Characteristics:

Multi-Stage Process: Real Candy Apple Red isn't one solid color; it involves a metallic or pearl base (often silver) with a transparent red dye layered on top, giving it intense depth & shine as light passes through, reflects off the base, and comes back out.Popularity: While popular since the 50s/60s, it remained a strong choice into the 80s for custom and factory cars, including Ford trucks & Broncos.Ford Color Code: The Ford version often uses code T or M2008 and was used on models like the 1980s Ford Truck & Bronco.
1980s candy apple red paint jobs are a classic choice.

"Candy Apple Red" in the 1980s was a multi-stage process involving a metallic base coat and a translucent red top coat to achieve its distinctive depth and luster. The final result is a vibrant, deeply reflective red finish that changes appearance depending on the light & angle.

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.
Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.

Foot prisons

Socks. Annoying, sweat-causing, non-barefoot enducing, everyday socks.
The first thing I do when I take off my shoes, is rip off the foot prisons I had to wear inside them. That's why I prefer flip flops, even in winter!
