Alanology 

The study of all things relating to Alan Wilson, a founding member, harmonica player, guitar player and blues genius of Canned Heat. These include the study of blues guitar, slide guitar, harmonica, John Lee Hooker, and Son House. Alanology also includes the study of nature and conservation.

My friend Rebecca knows Alanology better than anyone I know. Not only does she play a mean harmonica but she's so in tuned with nature just like Alan was.

Arcanology

The systematic and scientific study of magical theory, arcane energy, and supernatural phenomena. While "magic" refers to the act of casting spells, Arcanology refers to the academic discipline of understanding how those spells work. It involves the analysis of ley lines, the molecular structure of mana, and the historical evolution of ancient enchantments. It is essentially the physics and history of the supernatural world.

Etymology:

Root: Latin arcānus (hidden or secret), from arca (a chest or box).

Study: Greek logos (reason or discourse), used as the suffix -logy to indicate a systematic science or branch of knowledge.

Literal Translation: The science of hidden secrets.
