Ad hominem

An attack upon an opponent in order to discredit their arguement or opinion. Ad hominems are used by immature and/or unintelligent people because they are unable to counter their opponent using logic and intelligence.
Person A: I think we should spend more money on environmental protection.
Person B: You just think that because you’re a stupid tree-hugger.

Person A: It is crucial that we facilitate adequate means to prevent degradation that would jeopardize the project.
Person B: You think that just because you use big words makes you sound smart? Shut up you loser; you don't know what you're talking about.

Ad hominem

Whilst in an arguement, to avoid the point (thus a cop-out) and to insult the person arguing. Often because the person who results to the insults has no logical/intelligent point, thus they break down to immaturity.
Jon: I've made my point five times and all you've done is call me 'gay', way to resort to ad hominem, dude.

Urban Dictionary ad hominem

When one posts a definition that may be offensive to a specific audience based on nationality, race, gender etc., and then all the posting individual's definitions receive the same amount of dislikes.

Idiots who do Urban Dictionary ad hominem often times do not have sufficient imagination, vocabulary, or sense of humor to post a response.
After posting the definition belgian shower, my other definitions immediately received the same amount of dislikes. Should have known them Belgians would do Urban Dictionary ad hominem.

Argument ad Hominem

A logical fallacy where someone claims that the argument or position of someone else is invalid not due to any faults in it but based off of faults, real or imagined, of the other person.
This argument does not make the claim it is used in valid, but also does not render it wholly invalid provided that valid arguments may be found in other parts of the claim.
Examples of Argument ad Hominem:

1. Your presidential candidate has been shown to have been cheating on her wife, how the hell can you trust her to manage labor issues?
2. He's not a valid candidate, just look at how he dresses! If he can't mage his wardrobe, how's he going to manage a whole state?

Ad Hominem

Originally from the Latin meaning - "argument to the man", "argument against the man".

Now meaning Argument against what a person has posted via the net and brought about by Psychological projection as to the person hidden behind the Computer Screen and On-line Identity.

Can also be seen as an idiotic lack of appreciation of Netiquette and also gross self absorption by the reader/responder.
"Dear @$£*&% I read your post and am shocked by the Ad Hominem way you respond to reasonable dialog in this forum.... etc etc."

Ad Hominem

A mediocre form of argument meaning you revert to insults when you lose a debate. Commonly used by SJW's when they get offended by people who disagree with their views.
Sensible person: In my humble opinion, abortion is a legal form of murder one applies for their own selfish reasons. Their baby may have grown up to be the herobwho found a cure for cancer.

SJW: HOW DARE YOU SAY ABORTION IS A WRONG YOU CONSERVOCUCK!

Sensible person. Ad hominem attacks don't make an argument.

SJW: Continues to spout their incoherent attacks.
