1. Japanese name of rare wild animal (like mouse) living in Japan mountain. (Japanese dormouse)
2. rare family name, origin is mainly in West Japan.

Yamane-ko (or Yamane-co) means "wild-cat" in Japanese.
but, sometimes, Yamane-ko is used as nickname, calling children whose family name is Yamane.
