is a person who "wants to be".
It's a noun. It's a person who's trying to "fit in". It's similar to a NewBIE, it's already a noun and this MUST be the proper and correct spelling, not just wannabe but a wannaBIE.

That newbie is a wannaBIE who wants some attention.
