To swoop in and seize land, resources, wealth, property, or territory from an Indigenous, native, or previously established population, then claim yourself or your group as the rightful owner of what was taken. The term can also describe benefiting from the displacement, exploitation, or dispossession of another population while ignoring or rewriting the history of how that ownership was acquired.

The word "vultured" is derived from the behavior of a vulture, which circles above an opportunity and swoops in to take advantage of something after another party has already established possession or suffered a loss. In this sense, "vulturing" describes the act of opportunistically taking land, resources, or wealth from a population and then asserting ownership over what was acquired.

The term is commonly used in discussions of colonialism, Indigenous dispossession, land theft, imperialism, and exploitation. It emphasizes the act of taking something from people who were already living on or using it, displacing or marginalizing them, and then claiming legal or moral ownership over what was taken.

A variation of chow down; Used to describe the rapid consumption of food by multiple individuals (usually siblings) during a family styled meal. Vulturing down ensures that you get the portions you desire before that food is depleted.

I planned on having ham for Thanksgiving this year, but it was vultured down before it even made it to the table.

Comment Vulture

A person who will go under another person's comments and try to gain notoriety. This can be either in the form of straight-up self-promotion or trying to sneakily redirect people to their social media. There are many form factors of doing this and a multitude of ways to do this.

Example:

(Person commenting under post): "No cap i make better content then 'insert influencer' and will always!"

Example 2:

Person 1: "I love this video and it relates to me, my mother recently died of cancer and this video helps me cope with it thanks so much"

(Person 2 Reply): "Yo guys i just posted my new song and its the most fire thing you will ever hear!"

That guy is a comment vulture no one respects him and he has no family, friends, or anything to live for in life.

Cancel Vulture 

A cancel vulture is a person who engages in cancel culture. They’re “vultures” as they watch and see for anything offensive made usually by a celebrity several years ago. They then spread this information to their peers and others who engage in cancel culture. These people are usually insecure and lifeless people who want to be a “hero” because they don’t do any real good in this world. They themselves are likely insecure about past mistakes and things they’ve said before, and they want to take it out on others. Or they’re just “woke” virtue signallers. They almost all come from Twitter which is already a total cesspool. These people can’t accept or learn that people change and possibly don’t hold the same views forever.

Jimmy: Hey Tom look, Carl found that (random celebrity) said something racist 9 years ago on Twitter and is now asking people to cancel them
Tom: Damn, Carl is such a Cancel Vulture
