The Network

A German band that released their first (and only so far) album, Money Money 2020. They're basically a 'side project' of Green Day and some of their friends. The Network wears masks, has a techno sound, but it's not the sucky techno. Only for hardcore Green Day fans or poseurs. I think they're Green Day's alternate personalities. Have fetishes with disease and art and such. Definatley not for people easily disturbed. They also made up the religion of Lushotology. Band members include Fink (Billie Joe), Van Gough (Mike Dirnt), Z, The Snoo (Tre Cool), and Captain Underpants.
Dad: This sucks! It this Green Day?
Me: No, it's The Network.
Dad: Who's that?
Me: New band.
Dad: They're not too bad...
((Yes, this actually happened. Yes, my dad is lame.))

Triangle of the Network

A theoretical plane of existence between that which is real and that which is not, in which resides the great unknown that birthed the useless pager. Within its boundless confines is the great knowledge base the useless pager taps into to produce its endless wisdom.
I cannot communicate with you, for I am not within the triangle of the network.

British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”

Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
According to the boffins downstairs, the murderer used a serrated blade.

Pee Calculus

When you have to pee in a movie but don’t want to miss anything, and must do the following mental equation: will the amount I have to pee cause enough discomfort to diminish my attention capacity for the remainder of the movie to an extent which is greater than the amount of the movie I would miss by making a mad dash to the restroom.
I saw Satantango last night, wonderful film but by the 5th hour I had to start doing pee calculus.
