When you bury the lede, you are putting the most important/interesting information at the end of your
story instead starting off with it.
This term is often used in journalism when a journalist places the newsworthy part of the
story after the
minor or irrelevant details.
Burying the lede can also be used for comedic effect, especially if it's in "rule of three" format.
Example of bury the lede:
Melissa:
God, yesterday was the worst!
Austin: Why? What happened?
Melissa: I broke my custom controller, stepped in shit, and
ripped my new t-shirt!
Austin: That sucks,
dude.
Melissa: Oh, and my dad got hit by a semi truck that spun out of control after swerving to avoid a stampede of rabid tigers that escaped from someone's house.
Austin: Uhh, talk about burying the lede.
