surprisingly

"surprisingly" is a filler phrase used by devious businessmen to cover up their incompetence;

its meaning derives from "surprise", verbalizing an unforeseen event. Contrary to this definition,

the word mostly carries the meaning that the interlocutor who is talking to you has failed irredeemably.

To this day, historians speculate about the first historical usage of the word,

because it was only through industrialization that public utilization of the word was conceivable at all.
Johny: "Surprisingly, I got fired."
Unsuspecting Noob: "I'm so sorry for you, you couldn't have done anything better."
