usually refers to a female who is not skinny but is also not fat. It is considered a term of endearment and in no way an insult. It is the opposite of the 80s term "Hardbodied" which use to refer to women who worked out all the time and had very "hard" bodies.

An attractive and curvaceous female who, while clearly doesn't work out every day, looks better for it.
Dan: Check out that hardbody over by the stop sign.
Joe: Actually I'd prefer her softbody friend as she would jiggle lightly when spanked, and who would bounce while riding me.

Calling a man a Softbody is an insult, implying that he is physically or mentally weak. A Softbody is…
1. Physically out of shape – Lacking muscle or toughness.
2. Mentally weak or soft – Easily intimidated, lacks resilience or a strong mindset.
3. Not built for hardship – Someone who wouldn’t handle a tough situation well.
