Usually because the channel that airs it is making big bucks and absolutely refuses to let the creator end it.

The false belief that newer entries in a series or franchise have somehow degraded in quality over time. Mostly used for series that have been around for a very long time. Named after the long running show, The Simpsons.

Person 1: Man, AVGN is shit nowadays!

Person 2: No, really, it isn't, the humors as funny as ever, and so many great episodes have come out in the modern AVGN era. Hong Kong 97, Seaman, Life of Black Tiger...

Person 1: B-But, everyone else thinks so!

Person 2: No, actually. Look at the most liked comments on any video and you will see that they are all positive. Seems like a case of Simpsons Syndrome, eh?

The ailment of being very, very, dumb. Charecterised by random outbursts of an obsurd nature. Some signs may include but are not limited to the following

"Is Peanut Butter Dairy?"
"I always that an autobiography had to do with cars"
"Omg, Earthquake (Picks up cellphone)"

Bart Simpson Syndrome

Children of neglectful parents often view any attention as good attention. They may do bad things like knock over trash cans in front of adults to get yelled at. The same people grow up to spew hateful and ignorant crap on the internet for the same reason. They have little to no friends and reading angry responses to their posts is the highlight of their day. Don't hate these pitiful bastards, feel sorry for them.

Homer Simpson Syndrome 

When a wife consciously or subconsciously considers her husband stupid, or oafish. She does not respect her husband. She lacks faith in her husband's ability to lead. It can be brought on by financial hardships, infedelity, the opinions of others outside the marriage, and western culture among other things and can be present prior to marriage. Occasionally, it is laying dormant from prior relationships.
Symtoms include:

Disagreement with any point the husband brings up whether it be for future plans, current events or general opinion on any given subject without logical counterpoint.

Vague answers to questions where the answer is obvious are rendered simply to be in disagreement.

Public acts of insubordination.
Belligerent verbal or physical assaults.

The therapist told her that she had developed a severe case of Homer Simpson Syndrome after her husband lost his job.
