A parochial suburban existence, depressingly counterpointed by the liberal planting of shrubs in an effort to somehow hide the fact that you live on top of your neighbours on a housing estate.

Jesus of Suburbia 

The protaganist in Green Day's 2004 album "American Idiot." JoS is a representation of everything the typical American outcasted youth is. He does drugs ("and Mary Jane to keep me insane, while doing someone else's cocaine") and drinks ("to fall in love and fall in debt, to alcohol and cigarettes") He's depressed, unloved and hates his Mom (and his step-dad, Brad)

Jesus hates his town and the people in it, and has no care for anything at all. Later in the song bearing his name, in "Dearly Beloved" we see that Jesus is a quite poetic and cynnical guy. Jesus then leaves his home in the suburbs to go to the city. There he meets St. Jimmy, and his love interest which we only know as Whatsername. St. Jimmy is revealed to be a figment of JoS's imagination, constructed by him to protect Jesus from his weak self (almost like the wall in Pink Floyd's 'the Wall'). St. Jimmy "commits suicide" which leaves Jesus to face the facts after Whatsername leaves him, and grows up. Jesus gets a job, gives up drinking and such, and begins going insane. He then returns home with his friends and loses contact with Whatsername.

2. "Jesus of Suburbia" A ten minute long suite by Green Day. It tells the story of the Jesus of Suburbia and his life. Consisting of the parts:
I - The Jesus of Suburbia
II - City of the Damned
III - I DON'T CARE
IV - Dearly Beloved
V - Tales From Another Broken Home

The main character of Green Day's album "American Idiot," a rock opera in which the characters represent the youth of America in a modern-day metropolis filled with rhetoric, lies, and censorship. The entire story is an exploration of the main characters' thoughts and interactions with each other that takes place over the time span of approximately one year.

Jesus of Suburbia represents the average young American who doesn't quite fit in and has "disciples", or a clique consisting of the rest of the unheard youth who don't feel as though they fit into the well-established structures of the corporate American society.

Suburbia 

The kind of place where disgruntled teens go on killing sprees with hopes that prison will at least be more interesting. Every house is nice, moderately priced, and identical every other house in it's subdivision. Appopriately enough, the average suburban household owns a Suburban (so that the soccer team can be carpooled back to their tract housing without having to remove the Abercrombie bags from the cargo area).

I live in such suburbia that if it werent for the flowers our landscaper planted, I probably wouldnt be able to tell which house I lived in and which belonged to the neighbors.

Suburbia 

Suburbia is a melting pot of teenage subcultures whose differences vary from little to big, but all share two basic things: rebellion and drugs. No matter how different one subculture might be from another, they can always be brought together by these two things.

For adults in suburbia, it is where they all try to act like they're perfect, but are all secretly sleeping with each other's spouses. They are also known to use their kids to compete with each other. Such as, whoever's kid plays the most sport and gets the better grades is the best kid. Sounds like nothing, but this is very revered by parents in suburbia.

Suburbian #1: Dude, I hate suburbia. It's full of all these idiot fuckwads who just do drugs and waste their lives away.

Suburbian #2: Yeah, definitely...wanna go drop some acid, then vandalize some shit?
