Name comes from a fictional story of a troon named "Shorif" who becomes a transgender woman "Shorifa". This story was published in a 7th grade text book appointed for by the government of bangladesh under the rule of Pharaoh Hasina. The name has become the go-to when referring to transgender, feminine or gay men.
