Sealay

A slang word used to define the word “slay”: commonly used for when someone does something appealing or amusing. The word ‘sealay’ is a fused word of “seal” and “slay”. This word is used mostly in texts and rarely in the real life world. It’s used as an inside joke sometimes. The word ‘sealay’ is also often used with the seal emoji right after it to expand the humour.

A slang word used for an inside joke. This is a mix of both the words “seal” and “slay” which is commonly used for a joke as the seal emoji looks a little goofy and just the word “slay” for the same reasons as it’s used in text.

Sealand

The Principality of Sealand is an independent nation. It lies seven miles off the coast of England, east of the port of Felixstowe.

It started life as a military installation in the North Sea, operated by Britain's Royal Navy, and termed "HM Fort Roughs". In 1967, Major 'Paddy' Roy Bates moved onto the abandoned installation and declared its independence as the Principality of Sealand, himself becoming Prince Roy of Sealand.

In 1968, a British court ruled that Sealand was not part of the UK - Britain had no jurisdiction there.

A team of German and Dutch mercenaries stormed Sealand in 1978, but Prince Roy was able to retake the fort.

Prince Roy passed away in 2012, having previously designated his son Michael as his successor. He became Prince Michael of Sealand on 9 November 2012.

Sealand has recently formed a national football team which competes at international level (the highlight being two 2-1 wins over Alderney), and hosts a fledgling data haven company called HavenCo.

A lot of people got to know Sealand through Hetalia, but it's a fascinating nation even without the Hetalia connection.

Don't expect to see Sealand in the World Cup any time soon - their national football team's not allowed in FIFA.

The word is the short-hand of 'oku salayo', which means 'what remains is' . Regardless of all facts presented before me, I reiterate that my misinformed, obscure perspective is still valid whether you like it or not.

Ok'salayo can be followed by an insult or swear word e.g. If you and your exGirlfriend/Boyfried dated for 10 years and break up then he/she marries someone in less than 6 months, as the ex you can say “Ok’salayo batohlukana” meaning “they will break up anyway”

Ok’salayo can also be used by an individual to express how much settled they are about something e.g. “noma ngimubi Ok’salayo ukhetse mine” meaning “even though I’m ugly he/she chose me”

Even soccer fanatics like to use the word e.g. “even though our team Kaizer Chiefs stayed weeks and weeks on number 7 on the PSL log, people calling us 7deLaan (a South African Afrikaans soap opera)Ok’salayo we are the best team with good players”
