Pineapple Pizza Effect

1. The pineapple pizza effect is a social phenomenon where a number of people express an ungrounded aversion towards something, although they do not actually share this aversion personally. The term originates from the strong rejection of pineapples on pizza by people, despite not actually disliking it or having a preference. A "pineapple pizza" is a moniker used for things that are subjected to this phenomenon.

Often stemming from a desire to fit in or to exclude a particular group, this sudden development of strong opinions are only expressed verbally. When encountering a "pineapple pizza", people demonstrating this behavior are characterized to be instinctively driven to quickly react negatively, usually unwarranted, and unable to articulate the reason for their preference. When confronted with the opportunity to partake of the "pineapple pizza", it is expected that they would, despite what they say.

2. Since the cool kids don't like it, I now don't like it too, even though I do.

Examples of this phenomenon:
• Hating pineapples on pizza, despite eating the most Hawaiian pizza on a corporate pizza party
• Getting mad when seeing someone break spaghetti, despite no one actually caring
• The aversion of Onlyfans creators, despite avidly consuming similar forms of pornography
• People's negative reaction on food videos whenever they do not see gloves being used
• The persistence of cooking steak at a certain standard by people who don't really even cook at eat steak
Shawn: "Did you go to the company after-party last night? I heard Kylie was so drunk, she went up the stage and took off her top. Here, Jake sent me some pics. Look at those massive tits, man. Epic."
Mike: "Shit, really? I could've.. whatever, Kylie's a thot anyway. I would have went if it was Momoko again."
Shawn: "Dude, what's wrong with you guys. Momoko took on nine guys on the stage last year—from different departments, and only Kylie's seen being the thot?"
Mike: "Yeah, 'cause she's Japanese. Based."
Shawn: "Whatever man, you know you'd jump at the chance with Kylie. That's just the pineapple pizza effect."

murderhobo

In a tabletop game, a murderhobo is a player who murders NPCs indiscriminately. This is normally derogatory, referring to a player who totally ignores quests, dialog, backstory, trade, world building etc.

The term is most common with Dungeons and Dragons, but it can be applied to most RPGs where the player is allowed to kill most quest-giving NPCs and NPC traders. E.g. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Divinity original sin.

Steve: I'd like to roll a strength check against strangling the orphan.
Dave: I call dibs on the dog.

In sales terms, a whale is a prospect that is significantly larger than an organization’s average customer.

Whales are large and extremely difficult to close. Due to their immense size, they are highly sought-after.

A whale is typically identified at first by a whale hunter on the sales team, but often requires cross-discipline participation in order to close; this includes assistance from operations, engineering, creative, client success, and business development teams.
"Shit...the sales director chewed me out on the sales call this morning. He's totally pissed that I have nothing in my pipeline. I've been focused on this one whale for so long that I haven't had time to prospect for normal-sized deals."
